Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships 2022 | How To Secure Funds For Germans And Overseas Studies

Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships is a fully-funded scholarship programme. The scholarships are available for German and foreign international students who want to pursue a bachelor’s, Master or Ph. D in any Germany-approved universities or German technical colleges. The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation seeks to support and empower talented young people who want to further their academic studies. The scholarship is offered for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Germany.

This Scholarship will cover a monthly basic stipend of £650, health insurance expenses and, where applicable. Scholarships are available for International students from all over the world. The Foundation particularly supports students with limited financial opportunities or who come from families with a migration background to Germany. Available Courses For Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships 

The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung 2021 Scholarship value

  • Successful applicants will receive up to €744 per month.
  • There is also a monthly flat-rate study fee of €300, which all scholars can freely access.
  • Scholars may also receive a contribution to Health Insurance of up to €71 and long-term care insurance of up to €15 per month.
  • Scholars with children can receive a family allowance of €155 per month. The scholarship does not have to be repaid.

The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships supports stays abroad during the funding period – through subsidies for travel expenses, tuition fees, and international health insurance, especially for study or research stays, language courses and internships of up to 12 months. Eligibility Criteria for Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships

Friedrich Ebert Stiftung 2021 Scholarships applicants could be Germans, foreign international students with an education or those with refugee status in Germany. Applicants should be individuals committed to social development and must have leadership potential.

Applicants should hold the followings:

  • Socio-political engagement and identification with the values ​​of social democracy
    • Must have above-average performance in school and studies
    • High political thinking
    • Must have a thirst for knowledge
    • Must be tolerant and open-minded
    • Ability to work as a team
    • Must be critical thinking
    • Good self-reflection

For the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung 2021 Scholarships applicants for basic Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses must have the followings:

  • Confirmation of study place or certificate of enrollment at a state or state-recognized German university or technical college for the course for which they want to be funded
    • Foreign applicants must also demonstrate enough German language skills
    • First-year students (Germans and foreign students with education) must apply before or at the beginning of the first semester.

PhD funding for Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships must have:

  • Unconditional notification of admission to the doctoral scholarship
    • Foreign applicants must also demonstrate enough German language skills

How to Apply for Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Scholarships

If an applicant meets the above-mentioned criteria, he/she is to apply by filling out the online application form.  If you are eligible and successful for a scholarship, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships will ask for additional documents from you by e-mail. 

The application deadline for Masters Degree scholarships for international students is 30 November 2020 for the winter semester and 31 May 2021 for the summer semester. PhD candidates can apply at any time. For all other students please see the official website
